REPLACING THROTTLE RETURN SPRINGS
A) BMW 630 i:
Disconnect springs.
Important: Only install springs with 19 windings.

B) BMW 633 i:
Remove air filter housing 13 71 000.
Detach rod (1) and, for cars with an automatic
transmission, accelerator cable (2).
Remove circlip (3) and take off shim (4).
Remove toggle joint (5) with bushings (6).

Detach linkage (7).
Lift out spring (8).
Remove circlip (9) and remove operating lever
(10) with bushing (11) and spring (8).

Installation: Watch corrugated washer (12).
Lubricate bearing surfaces and slides with Longterm 2.
Lift out spring (13) and unscrew bolt (14).
Remove throttle lever (15).

Lift out spring (13) over collar of sleeve (16).

Adjusting:
Install throttle lever (15) and operating lever (10),
and attach springs.
Bolt (14) remains loose.
Loosen stop screw (17).
Press throttle shut.
Tighten stop screw (17) until play between roller
(18) and gate is approx. 0.5 ... 1 mm (0.020 ...
0.040´´) - see (A).
Tighten bolt (14).
Tighten stop screw (17) one more turn and lock
with nut.
Adjust throttle switch 13 63 544.
Adjust engine idle speed 13 00 054.

REMOVING AND INSTALLING RETURN SPRINGS OF
THROTTLE SHAFT
Remove throttle housing 13 54 030.
Unscrew nut (1).
Lift out retainer (2).
Remove connecting plate (3).
Important!
Washers (4) on both sides of connecting
plate.

Installation:
Make basic setting of throttle with nut (1)
and connecting plate (2).
 
Disconnect connecting rod (1).

Take off lever (1) with plastic bushing (2) and
spring (3).
Coution!
Strong spring force.
Installtion:
Tension return spring by approx. 1/2 turn.

Unscrew nut (1).
Pull off lever (2) with washer and spring.
Caution!
When loosening the nut, do not turn the
attached throttle switch beyond the permissible
opening angle (gap).
Installation:
Use spacer between lever (2) and housing.
Tension return spring by approx. 1/2 turn.

Basic Throttle Setting:
Adjustments are only necessary after repairing.
Loosen screw (1).
Adjust connecting plate (2) with stop (3) that
there is slight clearance between housing and
throttle.
