REMOVING AND INSTALLING THROTTLE HOUSING A) BMW 630 i: Remove air filter 13 71 000. Detach bellows at throttle housing. Disconnect plug (1) on throttle switch. Important: Don´t pull on wires. Detach hose (2) to vacuum governor and red hose (3) to solenoid at throttle housing. Detach preheating hose (4). 13 71 000 | |
Disengage accelerator linkage (5). Remove engine vent hose (6). Detach preheating hose (7). Detach vacuum hose (8) for ignition control. | |
B) BMW 633 i: Remove cylinder head cover 11 12 000. Disconnect accelerator linkage (cable from 1980 models) (1) and accelerator cable for automatic transmission. Disconnect hose (2) for retard control, hose (3) for advance control, hose (4) and plug (5). Important: Throttle must still close fully after adjusting the accelerator cable. Installation: Adjust accelerator cable for automatic transmission - see Group 24. 11 12 000 | |

Pinch coolant hoses (8 and 9) with squeeze clamps and disconnect at throttle housing. Installation: Tighten hose clamps to specified torque. Single clamps: 0.8 ... 1.2 Nm (0.6 ... 0.9 ft. lbs) Double clamps: 1.5 ... 2.0 Nm (1.1 ... 1.4 ft. lbs) | |
Unscrew four mounting nuts and take off throttle housing. | |

Loosen hose clamp (1) and push back hose (2). Pull off plug (3) on throttle switch. | |
Unscrew screws (1 ... 4). Take off throttle housing. 5 = Gasket | |
