ADJUSTING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR Remove striker. | |
Unscrew cover metal screw and remove cover. Unscrew armrest (1). | |
Lift cover (2) off of inner door handle. Unscrew screw (3) and remove inner door handle (4) with escutcheon (5). Important: Note installed location (inner door handle is almost horizontal). | |
Lift cover (6) off of window winder. Unscrew screw (7) and remove window winder (8) and escutcheon (9). Installation: Note position of window winder (faces forward at a rising inclination). | |
Remove door trim. Installation: Replace damaged door trim clips or sockets. Large coil of spring (10) faces trim. | |
Loosen door hinges on A-pillar and position outer door surfaces to be in same plane with front and rear side panels. Align door height with beaded edge. Tighten hinge screws. | |
Pull off Acella plastic sheet as required. Loosen door hinges in door and align door in forward direction that door gaps front and rear are the same. | |
Attach striker and adjust it, that rear edge of a closed door is in same plane of rear side panel. | |

Pull off plastic sheet partially. Loosen upper and lower door hinge bolts. | |
Adjust door that gap (A) is equal at front and rear. Adjust door height for alignment with embossed edges. | |
Note: Loosen striker on door lock, if necessary. | |
Adjust door hinges on A pillar and door outside panel to same plane with front and rear side panels. Align door height according to embossed edge. Tighten hinge bolts. | |
Note: The door outside panel surface can be adjusted "deeper" than the front side panel surface by up to max. 1 mm (0.039´´) ot prevent wind noise and damage from flying stones as well as for compensation of optical irregularities (tolerances in the curvature). | |
Adjusting Door Lock: Loosen bolts. | |
Align striker vertically. Rubber pad on door lock must engage without tension. | |
Adjust striker in horizontal direction that the outside panel of a closed door is in the same plane as the rear side panel (second catch). | |
Note: The adjacent rear panel can be adjusted "deeper" up to max. 1 mm (0.039´´), to prevent wind noise and damage from flying stones as well as for compensation of optical irregularities. |
