Pull out brake pads with Special Tool 34 1 010. Important! Mark worn brake pads. Don´t mix up brake pads in case of one-sided wear. | |
Knock out seized brake pads with Special Tool 34 1 000. Important! Mark worn brake pads. Don´t mix up brake pads in case of one-sided wear. | |
Important! Always replace all brake pads on both calipers of one axle at the same time. Check color code (B)* and make*. * See Specifications | |
Important! Install a new brake pad wear sensor in the right brake pad of the left front wheel. Installation: The thick end of the brake pad wear sensor faces the brake disc. | |
Clean guiding surface and seat in the housing recess with a brush**. Never use solutions containing mineral oil. Check the dust covers. Brake pads must move easily in the calipers. Push pistons against the stop in the calipers with Special Tool 34 1 050 (or a standard piston setback pliers). Important! Observe brake fluid level in the tank. Install brake pads. Operate brake pedal several times to move the brake pads against the brake disc. Break in new brake pad normally the first 600 km (350 miles). ** Source: HWB | |
Avoid full stop braking from high speeds. Non-conformance will prevent the brake pads from reaching their most favorable wear and friction values. |
