Installation: Install angled disc (1) with collar facing needle bearing (2) on input shaft. Hold thrust washer (3) on converter bell housing with grease. Replace gasket (4). |  |
Detach intermediate plate at converter bell housing. Loosen two opposite bolts by several turns. Separate primary pump from converter bell housing by applying light knocks. |  |
Installation: Lift off intermediate plate (5) and replace gasket (6). |  |
Remove primary pump. Installation: Primary pump, consisting of pump body (7), hollow gear (8) and pump gear (9), can only be replaced as a complete part. Check O-ring (10) and replace, if necessary. Install hollow gear (8) and pump gear (9) that punch marks face up. |  |
Check radial play¹) between drive gear and pump body. This requires turning gear 360°. ¹) See Specifications

Check primary pump for easy movement with Special Tool 24 3 140. This check must be repeated after tightening the intermediate plate. |  |

Lift off transfer plate (5). Installation: Replace gasket (6). | |
Remove primary pump. Installation: A primary pump, consisting of pump housing (7), hollow gear (8) and pump gear (9), can only be replaced as an assembly. Check O-ring (10), replacing if necessary. Important! Install hollow gear (8) and pump gear (9) that punch mark faces up. |  |
