Pull off wires on automatic cut-out for electric windows. | |
Detach and attach instrument panel trim at bottom left 51 45 180. Loosen screws and take off left front wheel house trim. 51 45 180 | |
Drill a 20 mm (0.787´´) dia. hole at front of left side panel. Distance A = 70 mm (2.756´´) Distance B = 19 mm (0.748´´) Apply a coat of zinc paint on edges of hole. | |
Press out plastic plug from pre-punched holes. | |
Mount bracket on automatic antenna. | |
Mount bracket on threaded pins provided in front wheel house. | |

Install rubber grommets on antenna and control wires with their beads facing passenger compartment. Installed Order of Mounting Parts: 1 ... 4 outside on side panel. 5 ... 8 inside in wheel house Engage toothed ring (6) with two shoulders in openings of adapter (7). | |
From 1979 Models: Place rubber grommets, with beads facing passenger compartment, on antenna and control wires. Installed Order of Mounting Parts: 1 ... 4 outside on side panel 5 ... 9 inside in wheel house | |
Insert antenna wire through upper hole and control wire through lower hole, install rubber grommets and mount antenna on holder. | |
From 1979 Models: Insert antenna wire through upper hole and control wire through lower hole, install rubber grommets and mount antenna on wheel house (don´t tighten nut at this point). | |
Install and tighten upper mounting parts. Tighten antenna at bottom on wheel house. | |
Route antenna wire and (white) control wire to place of radio installation. Remove radio, if applicable. Connect wire (1) and wire (2) on radio. | |
Connect (red) power wire on plug terminal connection with red/yellow wire mark. | |
Mount (black) ground wire at ground point. Install all removed parts. |
