INSTALLING RADIO WITH SPEAKERS; SHIELDING AND
RETRACTABLE ANTENNA - 2 Speaker System -
Disconnect battery ground.
Install retractable antenna 65 21 100.
Cars With Air Conditioner:
Remove ashtray insert.
Pull out cover for air conditioner toward rear
out of clips carefully.

Pemove hazard light switch and cigar lighter
socket.
Pull off plugs and wires.

Remove plate (1) for radio.
Loosen left and right screws.
Remove carrier for radio.

Installing Front Speakers:
Pull off edge guard and door beam trim, until
opening for speaker is accessible.

Cut out door beam trim elleptically.
Important: Watch out for standard wires.

Route speaker wires on left and right sides along
wire harness to door beams.

Insert speaker wires in door beam from top to
bottom through hole provided for this purpose.

Connect wires on speakers.
Mount plate and speakers with screws (1 ... 4).

Installing Radio:
Important: There are two versions of radio
carriers.
1st version with small opening.
2nd version with large opening.

1st Version Radio Carrier:
Install radio in carrier (1) and mount with nuts (2).

Install plate (3) and mount with nuts (4), unsing
socket wrench (5).

Install tone control (6), ornamental ring (7) and
knobs (8) on radio.

2nd Version Radio Carrier:
Mount radio carrier (1) on radio with nuts (2).

Insert radio in radio carrier and mount with
bracket (1).
Center bracket.
Tighten screws (2) to 40 Ncm (3.5 in.lbs.).

Mount radio plate with nuts (1).
Use socket wrench (2) from installation kit to
tighten nuts.

Install tone control (1), ornamental ring (2) and
knobs (3) on radio.

Both Versions:
Mount bracket (1) on radio carrier and radio.

Connect flying fuse (1) with plug terminal (2).
Connect antenna wire (3), ground wire (4) and
speaker wire (5) on radio.
Connect battery ground and check function of
radio.

Install radio with radio carrier and tighten.

Trim antenna according to instructions supplied
with radio.

Installing Interference Suppressors:
Install ground wire between engine hood and
right side of spray wall.

Install ground wire between valve cover and
firewall.

Take off distributor cap.
Push shielded cap (1) on distributor cap and install
distributor cap.
Fasten ground wire (2) from shielded cap with
screw for vaccum box.
