REPLACING TRUNK LID TORSION BAR
Remove and install trunk lid - 41 62 000.
Detach torsion bars with Special Tool 51 2 100
on left and right sides.
Bend open clamp and detach torsion bars at
holders.

Disconnect torsion bars with Special Tool
51 2 100.
Installation:
Secure trunk lid to prevent it from falling down.
Torsion bars have only slight preload.

Installation:
Check torsion bars for signs of abrasion in case
of grinding noise.
If applicable, lubricate joints with grease and
align rubber mounts.

Installation:
The preload of torsion bars can be increased
by inserting in the second catch.
This is necessary, for example, with the large
toolbox on the lid.
