RREPLACING FRONT PANEL WITH ENTIRE FIRE WALL
Read "Introduction"!
Remove bumper, left and right air ducts, both
bumper brackets, both turn signals, both front
grills, BMW emblem, both headlights, both
horns, battery, radiator with frame, rubber
seal, resistor/control unit for distributor, both
engine hood hinges, both side panels, entrance
rail strips, rain molding as req. and air cleaner
housing.

 
Cut through front panel along line.

Remove scrap metal.

Grind mating surfaces of new front panel
until bright.

Align mating surfaces, grind both sides until
bright and coat with powdered zinc paint.

Fit front panel and hold in place with body
pliers.

Weld front panel to engine carrier with
shielded arc welder.

Tack weld front panel to wheelhouse.

Remove bumper, left and right air boxes, both
bumper brackets, both turn signals, both radiator
grill sections, BMW emblem, both headlights,
both horns, battery, radiator with cowl, rubber
seal, ballast resistor, distributor control unit,
both engine hood hinges, both side panels,
strips on entrances, rain molding strips partially
and air cleaner.

 
Cut off front panel along line.

surfaces, and coat with zinc dust paint.
