Press out cable on holder. Press out rubber grommet (2). | |
Remove nipple on cable. | |
Remove and install instrument panel trim at bottom left. | |
Disconnect cable on pedal. | |
Before 1984 Models: Pull out cable on firewall. Installation: Lubricate sliding surfaces with grease. Check that lever and cable move easily. Adjust cable. | |
Since 1984 Models: Compress locking hook and pull cable out of engine compartment wall. Installation: Lubricate sliding surfaces with grease. Check that lever and cable move easily. Adjust cable. | |
Accelerator Cable Adjusting Procedures: Cars with Manual Transmission 1. Accelerator pedal on idle stop. 2. Throttle in idle position (automatic choke switched off). 3. Adjust cable without tension. 4. Adjust screw on full throttle stop of pedal assembly that in full throttle position there is still 0.5 mm (0.020") clearance between accelerator tread plate and full throttle stop of throttle (loosening screw by 1 and 1/2 turns is equal to 0.5 mm/0.020" clearance). | |
Cars with Automatic Transmission: 1.-3. same as for manuals. 4. Check control distance C* of full throttle stop. 5. Adjust full throttle stop that in kickdown position (pressed past full throttle stop) there is still 0.5 mm (0.020") clearance on full throttle stop of throttle. (Loosening full throttle stop by 1 and 1/2 turns equal to 0.5 mm/0.020" clearance.) Lock with M 8 nut. 6.
