Vehicles before change point in 1982 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OIL PAN Drain oil. Important: Never reuse drained oil. Installation: If oil smells burnt and is black, the transmission must be disassembled. If oil is silver gray, this concerns aluminum or iron abrasion. Park car on level surface. Correct oil level with transmission at operating temperature, selector lever at P and engine running at idle speed. Oil level of transmission at operating temperature (80°C/176°F) should be between both marks. Amount of oil betw. MIN and MAX marks: Flat oil pan = approx. 0.25 ltr. (0.55 pints) (black oil dipstick grip) Deep oil pan = approx. 0.40 ltr. (0.84 pints) (yellow oil dipstick grip) Never wipe off dipstick with a cloth losing lint.
