REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR
ELECTRIC WINDOW CONTROLS
Disconnect minus leas at battery.
Remove and install rear side trim - 51 43 000.
Take off end cap.
Loosen screws and remove door pillar plate.
Unscrew front and rear screws for door sill.
Remove door sill.

Detach rear window glass at window regulator.

Lift rear window out of window regulator.
Installation: Install rubber mount between
rear window glass and lifting rail.

Unscrew nuts (1 ... 4) and take window
regulator off of body.
Installation: Adjust rear window with
threaded pins (5) so that when closed, top
of rear window will run into guide rails
perfectly.

Remove window controls and disconnect
wires.
Installation: Connect wires according to
colors as indicated on label.

REAR ELECTRIC WINDOW
REGULATOR
Should the electric window regulator fail, the
rear windows could be operated manually.
Remove cover.
Screw in hexagon socket for emergency control
with wrench (1) included in car tools.
Turn in desired direction with a spark plug
wrench.

Remove and install rear side window 51 37 171.
Unscrew nuts (1 ... 3).
Detach window regulator on body.
If necessary, screw in stud (3) further.
Pull off plug on window regulator motor.

Installation:
Use shims to adjust window at top, that window
runs into bottom window guide correctly.

Installation:
Adjust rear side window with stud that window
runs into top guide rail for rear window correctly
when closed.
