ELECTRONIC BALANCING OF REAR WHEEL ON CAR
Always first balance wheels stationary (see
36 10 508) prior to electronic balancing.
Check rear wheel for lateral and radial runout
36 10 209.
Detach output shaft at rear wheel.
Position measuring stand for balancing on trailing
arm as close as possible to the wheel.
Lift car with measuring stand.
Be careful not to clamp parking brake cable.

Paste strip of adhesive tape on wheel at height
of stroboscope lamp.

Apply sensor on brake backplate at center of
axle.
Sensor must be approximately horizontal and
perpendicular.
Balance rear wheel with a wheel driver.
Important: Balance wheel dynamically according
to operating instructions supplied with pertinent
wheel balancer.

(FINISH BALANCER)
Always first balance wheels stationary, see 36 10 508, prior to electronic
balancing.
Check rear wheel lateral and radial runout 36 10 209.
Detach and suspend output shaft with a piece of wire.
Apply gauge for balancing on trailing arm, as close as possible to wheel.
Lift car with gauge.
Be careful not to pinch parking brake cables.

Paste a 3 to 4 cm (1 3/16 to 1 9/16") long strip of tape or make a chalk mark
of same length on outside of tire on the wheel being balanced, opposite the valve.
