REPLACING DRIVE FLANGE
Important: Drive flange mounting parts have
been modified.
Old Version: with bolt.
New Version: without bolt, but with wire
snap ring.
A) Version Without Bolt:
Detach output shaft.
Pull off drive flange with Special Tool 33 1 250.

Installation: Prior to installation of drive
flange, place wire snap ring (1) in groove of
differential case that both ends of snap ring
are recessed in groove.
This will prevent lateral bending of snap ring.
Press in drive flange by hand and turn slightly
until snap ring can be heard to engage.
Replace stretched wire snap rings.

B) Version With Bolt:
Detach output shaft.
Counterhold drive flange with Special Tool
33 1 100 and unscrew mounting bolt.
Installation: Torque values¹).

Pull off drive flange with Special Tool
33 1 250.
Installation: Replace loose fitting drive
flanges, or clean keyways with Tri, spray with
Activator Q and apply a 5 mm (0.197´´) wide
coat of Loctite to secure key.
Install drive flange and move back and forth
several times.
Important: Drying time is at least 2 hours.
