CHECKING FUEL LEVEL
TRANSMITTER AND FUEL
TRANSFER PUMP
Connect ohmmeter (BMW service test unit/M 06) on terminals G and 31.

Swing fuel level transmitter slowly and measure resistance* with float in
EMPTY and FULL positions.
Resistance values must change continuously while moving the float.

There must be connection between W and 31 when float is in EMPTY position.

Power is supplied to the fuel transfer pump via fuel pump relay (relay 1) - see
engine wiring diagram.
To check, measure power consumption* and delivery pressure*.
