REPLACING AUXILIARY AIR VALVE The auxiliary air valve will prevent an excessive drop in engine speed, if while idling the air conditioner is turned on or is on. Check the following, if engine stalls when turning on air conditioner while engine is running at idle speed. With air conditioner on (heater switch at "cold"), black wire must have voltage and air must flow through auxiliary air valve. There must not be air flowing through with air conditioner off. Brown wire = ground. Pull off wires. Loosen hose clamps (1 and 2). Unscrew nut (3) and remove auxiliary air valve.
