REPLACING BOTH GROOVED BALL BEARINGS
Remove regulator, pulley, fan wheel and bearing
bracket. Press out rotor from bearing bracket.
Remove holder (2). Press grooved ball
bearing (3) out of bracket.
Installation: Open end of bearing faces rotor.
Collar of ring (1) faces grooved ball bearing.
Pull grooved ball bearing (4) off of rotor.
Installation: Use only C 3 bearings.
Open end of bearing faces slip ring bearing.
Install corrugated washer in housing in front
of grooved ball bearing.

Vehicles after change point in 1982
- Alternator Removed and Disassembled -
Pull off bearing with Special Tool 00 7 500.

Installation:
Replace cover for bearing, if it had been damaged through apllication of
special tool.

Installation:
Check installed position of washer - collar faces bearing.
