Detach oil pump at holder. Important: Spacers (2). Installation: Loosen holder, position and tighten without tension. | |
Installation: Adjust tightness off chain with shims (1 and 2), that chain can be pressed in under light thumb pressure. Important: Watch position of shims (1) with an oil bore. Shim (2) must have same thickness as shim (1). | |

Unscrew holder (3) and remove oil pump. Installation: Mount holder without tension. | |
Installation: Push on sprocket after mounting oil pump. Tightening torque* for nut. * See Specifications | |
Installation / Chain Tightness: Adjust chain tightness with shims (4 and 5) that chain will give at center under light thumb pressure. Shims (4 and 5) must have the same tickness. | |
Testing and Servicing: Check whether oil pump runs easily by turning the drive shaft. | |
Disassemble oil pump and clean the oil filter screen (5). | |
Check oil pump for wear. - Scoring in body - Wear on rotors | |
The pressure relief valve is installed in the main bore and regulates the engine oil pressure*, see 11 40 000. Check whether piston (6) moves easily. Check length of spring (7) = 68 mm (2.677"). * See Specifications 11 40 000 | |
The 8 bar (112 psi) pressure relief valve regulates the oil pressure in front of the oil filter and prevents oil filter leakage. Check piston seat (8). Check length of spring (9) = 44 ± 0,4 mm (1.732 ± 0.016"). | |
Installation: Press in spring (9) and washer (10) with a wrench socket and install circlip (11). |
