RREMOVING AND INSTALLING MIRROR ON FRONT DOOR
Unscrew cover mounting screw (1) and pull off
cover from above.

Remove sealing compound.
Unscrew screws and lift mirror off of window
triangle.
Installation: Cover screws with sealing
compound.

Disconnect wire plugs and remove mirror.

REMOVING AND INSTALLING
OR REPLACING MIRROR ON
LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR
Disconnect battery ground lead.
Unscrew screw.

Pull off mirror control knob.
Lift out mirror switch with Special Tool
61 1 300.
Pull off plug.

Unscrew screws.

Unscrew screws.
Remove trim panel.

Lift insulation sheet.
Unscrew screws.
If applicable, unscrew screw (1).

Lift mirror and disconnect plug.
Installation:
Check for correct location of wires and seating
of retainer (1).

Turn on ignition and check operation.
Switch Positions:
1 = Left outside mirror
2 = Right outside mirror
Adjusting Mirror:
3/4 Vertical plane
5/6 Horizontal plane
DESCRIPTION
The outside mirror can be adjusted and heated
after turning on the ignition.
Heating is controlled automatically.
Heating is switched on by an integrated
temperature switch when the mirror glass temperatur
is below +15 ± 5°C (59 ± 9°F).
Heating is switched off automatically when a
temperature of 50 ± 10°C (122 ± 18°F) is
reached.
Heating switches is again when the temperature
would drop below +15 ± 5°C (59 ± 9°F).
The melting speed at -10°C (+14°F) for a
frozen mirror is about 5 minutes with a power
consumption of approx. 1.5 A.
