Vehicles after change point in 1982 REMOVING AND INSTALLING EXHAUST ASSEMBLY Disconnect plug for oxygen sensor - see 11 78 510. Unscrew nuts. Installation: Replace gaskets. Coat threads of studs with "CRC copper paste". Replace self-locking nuts. Tightening torque*.  * See Specifications 11 78 510

Unscrew bolt (1). Installation: Check rubber ring (2), replacing if necessary. |  |
Installation: Preload rubber ring by distance A = 7 mm (0.275") when installing. |  |
Disconnect rubber rings. Remove exhaust assembly. Installation: Check rubber rings, replacing if necessary. |  |
Installation: Provide uniform distance to body. |  |
