REPLACING OXYGEN SENSOR
Oxygen sensors must be replaced at 30,000 mile
intervals.
Disconnect plug receptacle (1).
Lift wires out of clips.

Unscrew oxygen sensor (2).
Installation: Apply a light coat of copper paste,
HWB No. 8122 9400 794, to threads.

Press in reset pin (3) on interval switch.
This must cause indicator lamp in instrument
panel to go out.

REPLACING OXYGEN SENSOR
- Do not clean oxygen sensores or let them come in contact with lubricants.
- Only coat the threads with "Anti-Seize"**.
- Cover oxygen sensors when undercoating the car.
M 30 B 32:
The oxygen sensor has to be replaced at intervals of 30,000 miles.
However, the "O2 SENSOR" sign will only light up after the first 30,000 miles.
Disconnect plugs (1).
Lift wires out of holders.

Pull off plate (2)´.
Unscrew oxygen sensor (3).
Installation:
Coat the threads with "Anti-Seize"**.
Tightening torque*.

Unscrew check control.

The heated oxygen sensor has to be replaced at intervals of 50,000 miles - there is no
sign or indicator lamp.
Unscrew plate (1) and disconnect plug (2).

Unscrew oxygen sensor (3).
Installation:
Coat threads with "Anti-Seize"**.
Tightening torque*.
